You may not find too many new details inside or out the 2018 Ram HD3500 Diesel, but you will be excited to see what’s under the hood. The most potent version of the pickup truck will from now on feature a significantly more torque and better towing capacity. Power wise, the carmaker hasn’t said anything so we suppose it’s going to stay at 385 horsepower.
2018 Ram 3500HD Diesel Engine Specs:
To be clear the base and mid model will keep their performance unchanged. Ram has decided to boast the topping model only. The oil-burner truck will rely on an updated 6.7-liter Cummins diesel, which will develop 385 horsepower and 930 pound-feet of torque. Compare to its predecessor, the 2018 model gets 30 additional lb-ft, and this pushes towing capacity on whopping 30,000 pounds. Still, the truck needs to be mated with a new fifth-wheel hitch in order to achieve the increase of 5,000 pounds over the 20178 model. This option is exclusively paired with an Aisin six-speed automatic transmission.

Unfortunately, the manufacturer hasn’t made any other big changes. Moreover, the cabin is totally unchanged, while the exterior sports a new front bumper with a bigger air intake. The change is pretty logical because the mighty engine needs as much air as it’s possible to be cooled off.
Release and Price:
Ram hasn’t released any pricing information so far, but it will in the coming months. If you want our opinion, the updated pickup truck will probably add at least $500 on the existing price.
