This mid-size SUV Crossover was originally launched in 2000. So far, we have seen three generations and that state will remain unchanged for some more time. Until we see a new-generation model, Toyota prepares refreshed model of current generation, which is expected to come next year as 2016 Toyota Highlander. This refreshed model with come with many improvements in order to stay competitive for some more time. Most of the changes will be related to car’s visual appearance, but there will be some technical novelties too.

The current model was released in 2013 and it is designed in classic SUV style. The 2016 Toyota Highlander will come with some modifications, but don’t expect radical changes. This crossover will keep its classical look, but it will get many new details which will make it more modern and more attractive to potential buyers. Most of the changes will be on the front end, but back of the car will undergo some changes too. The 2016 Toyota Highlander will get new front fascia with new design of headlights and grille. The rear end will also suffer some modifications, but those changes won’t be big as on the front. Interior will undergo some changes too.

Things under the hood are expected to remain pretty much unchanged. There will be two engines in offer. The first one is a 4-cylinder 2.7 engine, while the other one is 3.5 liter V6. Both engines are paired with 6-speed automatic transmission. The 4-cylinder variant is available only with FWD, while V6 model will be offered with either FWD or AWD.

These details are still unknown, but it is expected that 2016 Toyota Highlander will come in late 2015 or early 2016. Price is expected to remain pretty much unchanged, which means that base model will go around 38.000 dollars.
