The Fortuner is a mid-size SUV, which was originally launched in 2005. It was designed in Toyota’s division in Thailand and it was aimed mainly for the south-east Asia market. However, this model is also available in several countries of Latin America such as Argentina, Columbia or Panama and also in Egypt and Pakistan. On the other side, in Europe, North America, Japan and China, this SUV is not available. This model was refreshed two times, in 2008 and 2011 and now we are expecting some additional modifications for the 2016 Toyota Fortuner.

The testing model has been noticed on the streets and although it is still camouflaged, many of details are known. The 2016 Toyota Forture will ride on the new Toyota New Global Architecture or TNGA platform and it will share many mechanical parts with models like Hilux, Innova and 4Runner. Dimensions are expected to remain pretty much unchanged, but the outside look will feature several significant modifications. The new Fortuner will get new, trapezoidal grille, more angular and sharper headlights, new bumper, while the rear of the car will get new taillights. New model will also feature larger, 17-inch wheels as standard. The cabin of 2016 Fortuner will also come with plenty of changes. It will feature three rows of seats. Beside new styling and many new hi-tech features, it is expected that there will be more head and legroom and also more cargo space.
2016 Toyota Fortuner engine
For now, it is rumored that 2016 Toyota Fortuner will be available with three engines. The first one is a 3.0 liter V6 engine with 163 horsepower. There is also a 2.7 liter unit, which has maximum output of 160 hp. Finally, there is a 2.5 liter engine with 140 horsepower. All engines are paired with either 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic. The 2016 Fortuner will be available in RWD and AWD configurations.

The 2016 Toyota Fortuner is expected to come late this year on the most of the markets, while the Indian version is expected to be launched in early 2016.
