Hyundai Tucson, also called ix35, which is the name used for European market, is a compact crossover which was originally introduced in 2004. It stands below Santa Fe and it is currently in its second generation. However, a third-generation model is already in its way. It is expected that new model will come next year as 2016 Hyundai Tucson. Some of details are known while other company keeps as secret. We also managed to get some spy photos so we will also tell you about 2016 Tucson’s look, although it still wears a camouflage.

The testing model has been spotted on roads in United States and, although some parts are still covered by the camouflage, we can tell you some basic information about 2016 Hyundai Tucson look. New model will be completely redesigned and it will follow company’s new design language that has been already used on new Santa Fe. This basically means that new model will share many similarities with its bigger brother. The areas that are covered mostly are front fascia and some side parts but despite this covers, it is clear that front end will be in the same style as Santa Fe’s, which includes new LED headlights with 3D effect, new grille, bumper and many other details. Rear end is completely uncovered and it is clear that 2016 Tucson will feature 3D Taillights, which will give more futuristic look to new model.

It is expected that 2016 Hyundai will use the same engines as current model. The base engine will be the same 2.0 liter GDI DOHC unit, while more powerful variant will be equipped with 2.4 liter Theta inline-four that outputs around 180 horsepower. Both engines will be available with either automatic or manual transmission. It is also expected that 2016 Hyundai Tucson will get a performance version too. This variant will probably be equipped with turbocharged 2.0 liter engine that outputs 245 horses, same that is used for 2015 Sonata.

Although there is no official information about 2016 Hyundai Tucson launch yet, it is expected that third-generation model will come somewhere in late 2015.
