This subcompact car originally came in 2001 and during these years, it became one of the most popular models in this segment. Company presented a third-generation model recently, which came as 2015 year model. It was presented at the 2014 North American International Auto Show and went on sale in June. According to current official information, 2016 Honda Fit will not come with some big modifications but still, there are many rumors that it will come in hybrid variant too. If we consider that this model is already available in Japan, it is very possible that it will come in North America next year.
2016 Honda Fit redesign
Since third-generation model came recently, you should not expect some big changes for 2016 Honda Fit. It will have pretty much the same characteristics as 2015 year model, which came with plenty of novelties such as new platform, new body style, cabin etc. This model also has slightly different dimensions compared to its predecessor – it is a little bit shorter (around 1.6 inches) but on the other side, it has longer wheelbase for 1.2, which gives more legroom for rear passenger and higher overall level of comfort. It is worth to mention that new model is also characterized by use of extra light materials, which ensures improved fuel economy for 2016 Fit too.
When it is about cabin, it will be pretty much the same as for 2015 year model, which came completely redesigned, compared to previous-generation model. One of the main characteristics of 2016 Honda Fit will be the list of standard features, which is one of the bests in class, so expect things like, 8-inch screen, navigation system, leather wrapped steering wheel, automatic climate control, electric windows and electric front seats already available in standard model.
2016 Honda Fit engine
The 2016 Fit will be powered with new 1.5 liter DOHC i-VTEC engine that came with 2015 year model and it will be available with either 6-speed manual or CVT. As we already said, big novelty could be a hybrid version, which is already offered in Japan, which combines the power from the same petrol engine and internal high-output motor, IPU (Intelligent Power Unit) with lithium-ion battery.
2016 Honda Fit release date and price
It is expected that 2016 Honda Fit will come in early 2016 with the price in range from 16.500 to 21.000 dollars.
