This full-size crossover SUV was originally launched in 2009 and carried the Accord Crosstour name. After some time company decided that it is better this model to carry only Crosstour name instead of initial Accord-prefix name. Two years ago this model was refreshed so we won’t see next-generation model for some time. The 2016 Honda Crosstour comes with minor changes with basically the same characteristics as last-year model.
2016 Honda Crosstour redesign and features
The mid-cycle refreshment was done few years ago, so 2016 Crosstour will remain pretty much the same vehicle. Beside improved engine and new interior, which came in 2013, company claims that new model will also come with improvements in terms of weight of the car. Thanks to use of lightweight materials, some weight reduction is expected, which will provide better overall performance of the vehicle. New interior came few years ago and 2016 Honda Crosstour will keep in that way.
There are several novelties like 10-way power (2-way lumbar) driver’s seat and auto-dimming rearview mirror, which come as standard now. This crossover is also full of safety features. Some of them are Lane Departure and Forward Collision warning systems. Except on base EX trim, new LaneWatch camera mounted in the passenger side mirror comes as standard now.
2016 Honda Crosstour engine
When it is about engines, Honda relies on proven variants. The 2016 Crosstour will use same engines as previous model, which can be also found in Accord models. The base one is a 2.4 liter four-cylinder engine that produces 192 hp. The other one is 3.5 liter V6, which is slightly improved and which now have some more power and better fuel efficiency.
This engine coupled with 6-speed transmission produces 278 horses. The 2.4 liter uses 5-speed automatic gear box and both engines are also available with manual transmission. The 2016 Honda Crosstour is available with FWD and AWD systems.
