There are some big news from Ford Motor Company. After several years, the legendary Ranger is coming back. This model was originally launched in 1965 under the name Edsel Ranger and it is a compact pickup which is sold both in America and worldwide. According to information that we have, new-generation model is coming and is still unknown will it come as 2016 Ford Ranger, or will it be included in F-series with the name F-100. We expect that company will keep the legendary Ranger name. New model will come with whole-new design and with many new technologies implemented.
2016 Ford Ranger redesign
The 2016 Ford Ranger will come completely redesigned. It will use the Atlas platform, which can be also found in F-150. It will get all-new body made of aluminum and steel, which will provide significant weight savings. New model will also get new look and most of the changes will be on the front end. Front fascia of the 2016 Ranger will get new headlights, bumper and grille, all in Ford’s new design language. All in all, expect to see much more attractive and aggressive appearance from new model. Interior of 2016 Ford Ranger will be also redesigned. It will get completely new cabin and these changes won’t be only visual, but also in many other aspects like comfort and safety.
2016 Ford Ranger engine
For now there are two engine variants for 2016 Ranger that are known, but won’t be surprised if see some more. The base model will be powered with 2.0 liter EcoBoost engine that can be also be found in new Ford Edge model. This engine outputs 240 horsepower with 270 lb feet of torque, while fuel consumption is between 21 and 30 mpg, depending on driving conditions. The other variant is a brand-new 2.3 liter EcoBoost turbo engine, which 285 horsepower with 305 lb feet of torque. This engine is also expected to have great results in fuel economy.
2016 Ford Ranger release date and price
The 2016 Ford Ranger will probably come in late 2015. The price is still unknown, but it is expected that it will start around 20.000 dollars.
