Ford Expedition is a full-size SUV which originally came in 1996. So far, we have seen three generations of it but all of us impatiently expect to see fourth-generation model. Current model was introduced in 2007 and, although it received several modifications, it is expected that new model will come in nearest future. According to the latest information, next-generation model will come in 2016 as 2017 year model, which basically means that 2016 Ford Expedition will once again be a carryover. This model received some updates last year, so we expect that we won’t see some big changes in 2016 year model.
2016 Ford Expedition redesign and features
It is expected that 2016 Ford Expedition will carry pretty much in the same way as last year model. This SUV is characterized by conventional, robust and square look and we definitely won’t see some radical changes even when next-generation model comes. Familiar three-stripe chrome grille and angular lights are there, just like the other signature parts of this SUV.
Interior will also carry in the same style, but there will be some new colors in offer and also Brunello leather, which will be standard in Platinum trim. New features that came with 2015 year model like revised four-wheel independent suspension, blind spot information system (BLIS) with cross-traffic alert and a rearview camera will be offered in 2016 Expedition too.
2016 Ford Expedition engine
When it is about engine, things will remain pretty much unchanged. Although 2016 Ford Expedition will be offered in many different trims, it will be available with only one engine. It is a 3.5 liter EcoBoost engine that outputs around 365 hp and 420 lb-ft of max torque. All models will come with 6-speed transmission and RWD, while AWD will be optional. According to EPA ratings, this SUV makes 16/22 (city/hwy) mpg in standard variant, while AWD model is rated at 15/20 mpg.
2016 Ford Expedition release date and price
The 2016 Ford Expedition will come next year with the same price as current model, which starts from 43.500 and goes up to 61.000 dollars, which is the price for the highest Platinum EL model.
