Audi plans to introduce an all-new model, which will be part of company’s expansion plan, which consider increase of offered model up to 60 models. This number might sound huge, but company already produces around 50. Of course, this number includes not only unique, but also sub-models like S, R and RS variants. The 2016 Audi Q1 will probably be the only unique model of these additional ten. It will be an all new crossover – Audi’s response to this instantly-growing segment.
2016 Audi Q1 specs
The 2016 Audi Q1 will be an all-new model and it will be a new entry-level unit, when it is about crossovers. Q1 will be three-door crossover. It will for sure come for European market, while U.S. market is still under question. It will use the Volkswagen Group’s lightweight MQB modular-transversal architecture and it will be closely related to A1 model, just it is case with A3 and Q3 models. However it will be also influenced by larger Q3 model. It will have many visual similarities, but it will also use plenty of technical solutions that can be found in Q3. Interior will also be similar to Q3, but it will have it unique characteristics and probably less equipment, in order to leave the space for its bigger brother.
