The 2015 Subaru Outback is still in pre-production. It is expected to see the premieres of both, the 2015 Subaru Outback and its platform mate, the 2015 Subaru Legacy at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show in January. Sale is expected in June.
2015 Subaru Outback engine
Powertrain details for the 2015 Outback haven’t been revealed. The new Outback will likely be powered by the updated 2.5-liter H-4 with 170 horsepower. Other option under the hood should be as in the 2014 Forester new turbocharged 2.0-liter H-4 with 250 hp. About return of 3.6-liter H-6 there are some speculation. Last engine option for the 2015 Subaru Outback is a diesel-hybrid powertrain seen in the Subaru Viziv concept from the 2013 Geneva auto show.
2015 Subaru Outback redesign
Overall dimensions of the new Outback will remain similar. Subaru engineers pulled the “A-pillar” forward, which creates a more rakish windshield slope and increases passenger space. The A-pillar is the metal structure on each side of the windshield that supports the roof. It was moved for about 20 cm. It is expected that 2015 Subaru Outback will have installed Subaru Eyesight system, first time on a black car. Large 18″ wheels give the car a taller, more SUV-like appearance, and improve handling. New design of the windshield improves appearance, fuel economy and passenger volume. Spoiler at top of glass makes a statement and improves aerodynamics. From previous models we can see integrated roof rails with crossbars. Rear glass remains large. Visibility through it is better than any other crossover vehicle from competitors. Visibility is also improved with triangle glasses on the front doors.
Inside, the new Outback will be equipped with Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio connectivity, air conditioning, keyless entry, cd player, power windows, power mirrors, and much more.
2015 Subaru Outback safety
The 2015 Subaru Outback comes with a lot of safety features, including full-time symmetrical all wheel drive, with no buttons to push. Like every Subaru, the 2015 Outback has a minimum of six airbags standard: front, side, and curtain. Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) to prevent skids and Boxer engine are also included. Anti-lock brakes with electronic brake force distribution also comes standard.
Subaru is giving warranty for this vehicle: 3 year/58,000 km comprehensive warranty and 5 year/96,000 km powertrain warranty.
