Introduced in 1976, the eighth generation of the Nissan Maxima is coming as 2015 year model. New Maxima will be presented at the Detroit Motor Show in January 2014. However, it will be shown as a concept vehicle. Ever since its first generation, Nissan Maxima was 4-door sports car, but its luxurious and spacious interior made it more the family car. In the 2015 year, we will have brand new sporty look of the car.
2015 Nissan Maxima redesign
Starting from the front end, the new Maxima looks refreshed. Aggressive front grille exaggerates Nissan’s ‘corporate V’ shaped chrome-bar graphic. Then it drops down over the lower intake connecting hood and shoulder line. Air intakes are large and alloy-framed. Usual look will be changed with LED headlights and prominent front fender flares. Floating roof design is similar to Mini’s. But upper roofline are dissected by a small slither of wrap-around glass, connecting the rear window with the side windows.
2015 Nissan Maxima Interior
Nissan had always somehow managed to spoil exterior design with its interior look. Comparing to the competition, their vehicles had seem to be in loss. Nissan’s Friend-ME Concept interior is making things better. Standard shapes are replaced with angular dashboard and new control panel, twin-cowl upper dashboard which made the new Maxima both luxurious and sporty. Space will be more than enough bot for legs and head, so passengers will feel comfort given by the new 2015 Nissan Maxima. Also, new technologies are added with some of the Intel-powered infotainment options.
2015 Nissan Maxima Engine
Engine ranges for the new 2015 Nissan Maxima starts with 3.8-liter, twin-turbo V6 from the current GT-R, which produces 290 hp. More likely that the base option will be tweaked 3.5-liter V6 from the outgoing Maxima. Japanese car-marker’s CVT transmission is hard to be changed to some sporting track transmission, although ideally a conventional 6-8 speed auto or dual-clutch setup would appeal more to the driving purist. Fuel economy is expected to be at 19 city and 26 highway.
2015 Nissan Maxima Competition
The 2015 Nissan Maxima is expected to be rivaled by the Chevrolet Impala, Ford Taurus, Dodge Charger, Chevrolet SS and Toyota Avalon. It is almost certain that the 2015 Nissan Maxima will be presented at the 2014 Detroit Motor Show, as a 2015 year vehicle.
