2015 Hyundai Genesis

Japanese and German carmakers are global leaders in sedan category. In last couple of years, Hyundai is making a lot of efforts to reach their top spots. Since 2009, their ace is Genesis, with near luxurious interior and classy look. The price for highly rated RWD Genesis of $40.000 made a statement they are in the business. Of course, their first try haven’t made immediate impact, but it could be graded as good try for newcomers. They made a nice path for second generation of the vehicle which will come as 2015 Hyundai Genesis. According to the first spy shots, their model was BMW.

Proportions of the 2015 Hyundai Genesis sedan are very attractive and elegant. Platform used for this car is called Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 and it was also used for some other Hyundai vehicles. It means that 2015 Genesis gained 0.2 inches in length and 3 inches for wheelbase. This gap made Genesis seems longer, making it with longer stretch between the wheels. The 2015 Hyundai Genesis will be offered with 3.8-liter V-6 engine for base models. It will be capable of producing 333 hp. Other drivetrain option is more powerful 5.0-liter V-8 with 429 hp. Eight-speed automatic gearbox, built from Hyundai will be standard for all models. Four-cylinder or diesel engines won’t be in the mix from this Korean carmaker. That will be big lack since these engines won’t be competitive with top sedans from Japan and Germany, and also won’t have advantage in MPG rate.

However, Hyundai made its statement in sedan market. It is not easy to catch carmakers that have been producing these vehicles for a long time. A lot of progress have been made, but Hyundai is still far away from German leaders BMW and Audi. Also, Hyundai has a lot of work to be done in comfort, since riding Genesis on the wrinkly road is not comfortable because it makes  rear end wallow.
