Second generation of the full-size SUV will start with 2015 Audi Q7. This seven seated vehicle is one of the best selling crossovers from German manufacturer. We can expect it unveiling by the end of the year, or at least early in the 2015. Market appearance will follow few months later. First generation of Q7 started its life in 2006 and last redesign it had in 2010. After few years, we expect Audi Q7 as a 2015 model, which should attract big amount of attention.
2015 Audi Q7 engine
The Audi Q7 will come with four possible drivetrain options. Two gas engines will include 3.0-liter V6 powertrain with 310 hp and other one, stronger 4.0-l V8 twin-turbo which is good for 435 hp. Except petrol, there will be two diesel options – 3.0-l V6 TDI engine which is capable of producing 258 horsepower and 4.2-l V8 TDI generating 385 hp. Hybrid version of 2015 Audi Q7 is in talks in some gossips, but it is not confirmed yet. This drivetrain will deliver 115 hp. All engines will be paired to 8-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox, and all models will be AWD. Still in developing mode, second generation of the Audi Q7 is expected to make big impact in SUV market.
2015 Audi Q7 redesign
Main design change for the 2015 Audi Q7 is weight drop. This SUV vehicle will be around 320 kg lighter from its predecessor. The most recent V-6–powered model tipped the scales at 2425 kg. This weight drop saving is mostly made by changing platform of building the car. Previously, the Q7 was off-road-oriented platform, and German carmaker used its new MLB modular-longitudinal architecture, with use of new, lighter materials, such as aluminum and carbon fiber.
Exterior will be restyled too. First sight will see new grille, new, rounder LED headlights with rectangular shape and new alloy wheels, offered in 18, 19, 20 and 21-inch. Interior will be packed with luxurious stuff as always. Audi is one of the best companies when it is about the comfort and equipment inside the cabin.
2015 Audi Q7 price
Diesel engines are not so popular between US customers, but 2015 Q7 is ready to test the market. Exact price is not confirmed, but it is expected to be somewhere near $50.000. The 2015 Audi Q7 expectations are big, so big that enthusiasts expect it to compete with top of the class models – Mercedes-Benz M-class, Porsche Cayenne and BMW X5.
