The 2015 Acura RLX Sedan will use three electric motors and a battery pack with 3.5-liter direct-injected V6 petrol engine. Non-hybrid RLX use only petrol engine with front-wheel drive system. On the other side, rear wheels are driven from two electric motors, and third is used for electricity generation. Wheels will be powered through 7-speed automatic transmission. Except hybrid and non-hybrid, we will have RLX Sport Hybrid model. This one won’t be plug-in. 2015 Acura RLX – performance and fuel economy

Front-wheel drive 2015 Acura RLX AWD hybrid will have excellent outputs from 3.5-liter V6. This one will be capable to deliver 377 hp. Just for comparison, petrol engine FWD engine will have 310 hp. Also, 2015 RLX powered with petrol engine has fuel economy of 24 mpg. For Sport Hybrid models is expected to receive a boost of 25 percent and that would make 30 mpg EPA estimated consumption. Models with electric motors will allow torque vectoring on the rear axle, which will make handling of the Acura RLX better, even with more power than the other hybrids on the market. Cornering will be also easy. Also, while braking after high speeds, rear wheels will steer inward to increase stability, which will further shorten braking distance.
