Volkswagen has introduced the 2014 Scirocco facelift that will be presented to the public for the first time in a few weeks at the Geneva Motor Show. This six-year-old coupe model from Wolfsburg will receive several improvements that will make the car a fresher. Period of six years at VW models usually means that it’s time for a new generation and the old version is retiring. The current Scirocco is no exception. This car, thanks to the redesign, get a chance to compete for the favor of customers another 3-4 years.

When they have not decided to present the brand new 2014 Scirocco, Volkswagen’s stylistic changes to a minimum while the focus was on the front and rear of the vehicle. In addition to the new bi-xenon headlights and LED daytime running lights, redesigned the grille and bumper. The rear of the 2014 Volkswagen Scirocco also features new light clusters, which include LED brake lights, a redesigned bumper and tailgate. Changes are present in the interior of the 2014 Volkswagen Scirocco. The 2014 Volkswagen Scirocco fitted with new wheel and restyled the central console, including vents. As a tribute to the original model Scirocco, the central part of the dashboard is built on a set of instruments that read the pressure in the turbo – charger and the temperature of the oil, and there is a chronometer. In addition, the cabin now has a Dynaudio sound system, ParkAssist system and the storage compartment located next to the parking brake lever. Refreshed 2014 Volkswagen Scirocco is also equipped with Park Assist system to assist with parking.

As regards the engine, Volkswagen tried to increase significantly the power unit, relative to the current palette. In addition to increasing power, improved fuel economy and power, so that they now spend up to 19 percent less fuel and meet the Euro 6 standards.
The basic 1.4 -liter TSI petrol engine was upgraded to 3 hp and now has 125 hp ( 92 kW ). According to factory data, the average car consumes 5.4 l/100 km and emits 125 grams of CO2 per kilometer. All three 2.0-liter TSI engine also have more “horse” in relation to existing variants. The weakest of them now has 20 more hp and is able to produce 180 hp ( 132 kW ), with an average consumption of 6 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of 139 g / km.
Next in line was given an additional 10 hp and develops 220 hp ( 162 kW ), while the most powerful two-liter turbo – petrol engine, which is installed in the 2014 Scirocco R , has 15 “horses” more, and has a total of 280 hp ( 206 kW ). Its consumption is 8 l/100 km, and the atmosphere on average emits 187 g / km CO2. The weaker of the two 2.0 TDI diesel engine was upgraded with 10 hp and produces 150 hp (110 kW), consumes an average of 4.1 l/100 km and emits 107 g / km CO2.

The 2014 Volkswagen Scirocco will premiere at the Geneva Motor Show , and showrooms across Europe, arriving in mid-August.
