After a few teaser images (they were seen only some parts but not the whole car), here are the first official images of the 2014 Peugeot 308. The new, second generation of Peugeot “308” was recently officially presented on the internet and the world premiere will be at the fair in Frankfurt in September.
Out of Peugeot announces further improvements in energy, management, and quality in relation to the angry rivals Ford “Focus” and Volkswagen “Golf”.
2014 Peugeot 308 – Redesign
The new 2014 Peugeot 308 has a more aggressive look.
Thus, the new Peugeot 308 for 2014 is continuing with the current Peugeot’s design vocabulary of the group of models 208 and crossover of 2008, and is based on a new PSA EMP2 platform, but the used in the new Citroen C4 Picasso. As previously announced, EMP2 platform will be used in the future all vehicles PSA (Peugeot-Citroen) from the C and D segments.
The new Peugeot 308 will also decorate and better performing, roomier interior (with a 9.7-inch touchscreen), greater safety and fuel efficient engines, as well as about 140 kg less weight.
The 2014 Peugeot 308 is 425 cm long, 146 cm high, while the trunk volume is 470 liters.
2014 Peugeot 308 – Engine
As the engine is concerned, Peugeot in its press release does not mention specific details but expected range of 3-cylinder and 4-cylinder engines with a power output of 82 hp and more. In any case, among them will be 1.6 e-HDi and the French say, that one of the versions of the new 2014 Peugeot 308 will have CO2 emissions of less than 85 grams per kilometer.
2014 Peugeot 308 – Release date
The general public will the new 2014 308 will be able to meet in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show and sales will begin soon after its release (in the UK since January 2014, when available).
New Peugeot 308 for 2014 will be produced at the Sochaux plant in France and will certainly be one of the stars of the Frankfurt Motor Show 10 September, after which will start selling in Europe.
