The new line of family Insignia will soon be completed cross Country Tourer model, which will have a world premiere at the IAA in Frankfurt 2013th. Characteristic features include lower protection at the front and rear, in conjunction with prominent wheel arches and lower body paneling and visual appearance is complemented by dual exhaust pipes. With distinctive Opel grille, the look of the front part is now wider and deeper. And 2.0 SIDI Turbo and the 2.0 CDTI can be paired with a six-speed manual or automatic transmission, while the 2.0 BiTurbo CDTI is available only as an automatic.
Electronically controlled 4×4 includes clutch that works on the principles and Haldex electronic differential with limited slip to ensure traction on paved and unpaved surfaces. He is constantly adjusted to prevailing conditions on the road, insensibly changing the distribution of power, from 0 to 100% between the front and rear axles and between the rear wheels. The main advantage is that all this happens even before the wheel starts to slip due to the lack of traction, for example, in a wet or snow-covered roads. Sensors 4×4 system consistently deliver information to individual control modules, the degree of drift, acceleration, corner control, wheel speed, throttle position, speed of the car and engine torque, so that the distribution of power between the front and rear side of constantly adapting to the driving situation based on this information. Stability and dynamics are provided electronically controlled Limited Slip differential on the rear axle (eLSD). eLSD controls the distribution of torque between the rear wheels, transferring torque to the wheel that has the best reliance.
The Opel Insignia say 2014 Country Tourer can provide the drive even when three wheels rely on permanent or slippery surfaces and when only one of the rear wheels achieves traction. Customizable system all-wheel drive gives support drivers in situations uncritically. In order to reduce energy losses due to friction, and to save fuel, the system automatically switches to drive the front wheels whenever he saw the not need any adjustment.
