BMW has released technical details and photos of the new Series Coupe models fourth In relation to the concept that was introduced in January 2013th the auto salon in Detroit, serial version expected a little restrained design. Although the Coupe and Cabriolet versions of the BMW established a completely new series of 4, the new model has a distinctive visual characteristics of the 3 Series sedan Headlights, grille and hood are made of saloon version, while the design of the front bumper authentic though not exaggerated as in the concept.
2014 BMW 4 Series Coupe changes
BMW has given up on the previous decision last part of the vehicle, and the rear bumper now has a more conventional look. Instead of a wide opening in its lower part where they found a large rectangular terminations exhaust system, the standard version of the model Series 4 Coupe is now the classic rear bumper with round profile exhaust pipes. The 2014 BMW 4 Series Coupe is 4,638 mm long, and longer by 26 mm from the outgoing 3 Series Coupe. However, the distance between the axles is increased by 50 mm, and now stand at 2,810 mm. The car has grown in breadth and 43 mm (to 1,825 mm), with a height of 16 mm lower than before and is 1,362 mm. The BMW say that with all this managed to reduce the weight of the car by 45 kg compared to its predecessor. Customers will be offered three trim levels: Sport, Luxury and M Sport package. Sport configuration being visually distinguished by a sleek, black accents with sport tuned suspension and 18-inch alloy wheels with a distinctive double-spokes.
For Luxury Package selected plated decorative details, leather seats and elements of lacquered wood in the cabin, while the M Sport aerodynamic configuration to get supplements, especially sports-reliance, more powerful brakes and 18-inch alloy wheels and interior in M style.
2014 BMW 4 Series Coupe engine
Initially, customers will be able to choose between two petrol and one diesel engine. Weaker BMW 428i Coupe will be equipped with 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbo-filled petrol engine with 180 kW/245 hp and 345 Nm of maximum torque.
Stronger, BMW 435i Coupe is powered by 3.0-liter 6-cylinder that develops 225 kW/306 hp and 406 Nm. The diesel version, the BMW 420D Coupe, will have under the hood engine power 135 kW/184 hp. It is expected that with the BMW 4 Series Coupe have a premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, and will reach dealerships in early October 2013th year.
