Porsche has released the first photos and technical details of the new generation model 911 Turbo and Turbo S, which will be presented to the public at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2013th Turbo 911 versions will have for the first time management system on all wheels.
Models Turbo and Turbo S German manufacturer rounded range of the latest generation Porsche 911, which in the 2013th marks half a century of existence.
2013 Porsche 911 Turbo design
The 2013 Porsche 911 Turbo is 4,490 mm long and 1,878 mm wide, while the distance between the axles is 2,450 mm and larger by 100 mm compared to the Porsche 911 Carrera 4th.
Turbo and Turbo S versions have 20-inch light alloy wheels, the Turbo S has as standard all headlights in LED technology, including LED daytime lights, and dynamic control of the light beam headlights, which is based on the front of the camera set in the lower part of the bumper.
For models 911 Turbo this kind of headlights are available as an option.
In addition to the drive to all four wheels, the new Porsche Turbo and Turbo S have a management system on all wheels.
The Porsche explained that this technology will contribute to improved drivability car to the race track and in everyday driving.
Maximum turning angle rear wheels is 2.8 degrees and depends on the speed of movement.
At speeds up to 50 km / h the system reverses the last point in the direction that is opposite to the turning front.
This is useful for driving in urban areas, and when parking, because in this way the distance imedju axle virtually reduced to 250 mm, or maneuvering around as if the distance between the front and rear axles for much less.
Completely opposite effect is obtained at speeds above 80 km / h when the front and rear wheels turn in the same direction.
The system thus ensures that the car behaves when turning vehicle which is equivalent to the distance between the axles for greater than 500 mm, which significantly improves the stability of the car in curves.
Porsche is on the Turbo models for the first time implemented a system and active aerodynamics – PAA (Porsche Active Aerodynamics). The system consists of a mobile, three stage front spoiler which is located on the lower part of the bumper and rear aerodynamic wings, which can also be set in three different positions, depending on the demand during the driving.
Thanks only to this technology, Porsche claims that managed to improve his score on the Nürburgring Nordschleife for two seconds, while the 911 Turbo S model is able to circle on this circle the runway in less than 7 minutes and 30 seconds.
